Dr. Looi Hoong Thoong, DJN, PJK, PKT was born in Province Wellesley, Penang, Malaysia on 4th of July, 1943
He is an old pupil of Bukit Mertajam High School and the Methodist Boys School, Penang
He went to Adelaide, South Australia in 1962 to study Architecture in the University of Adelaide, and graduated with Honours in 1966
He received a Doctor of Philosophy in 1976
He is also a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Architects
Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers, England
Fellow of the North American Academy of Arts and Sciences
Member of MENSA International
Member of the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS)
